Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. After relocating to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma enrolled at The Dragon School. Emma was just six when she decided she wanted to be an actor. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. At the age of 10, Emma had taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. In 1999 casting began to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times Emma and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut film was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The highest-grossing movie of 2001, the film set records in its first day opening and its opening weekend earnings. The film was praised by experts, and also by the performance of three new stars. The widely distributed British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma received five nominations for her impressive performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of a Film.
